Today, a 18 km hiking on the North Cap Island in direction of Knivskjelodden, the REAL North Cap.

The Vikings choose to start the walk with an additional difficulty ; the parking was full at their arrival and they had to park 2 km further…

Ahead, Philippe is opening the walk at a good rhythm, as it is down hill.
The weather is nice again.

It took 3 hours of walk to reach the end of the island.
In order to validate the control at the check point, one member at least of every team had to do the trek. The check point was exactly at 71°11’08’’.

But it is now time to return and of course it is up hill since it was down hill on the way in.

We meet Simone, 79 years old who courageously made the hiking by herself.

Guided by the cairns, everyone makes his way back to the cars.

For L’Agence tous risques, Les 2 caps, L’élan rapide, Les Vikings and Studio 45, the evening is not over yet.

At almost 10 PM, they join at the only still open restaurant of the village, the “Turist Restaurant”, where a reindeer meal is cooked.

Starving but still fully price conscious, they negotiate the price of the plate. 10 min later and 160 Kr less by person, the dinner can begin.

Boosted by the meal, a last expedition to the harbour of Skarsvag is organized to visit the production of giant crab before all returning to campsite and tents for a deserved rest.
